Apply group-registration information to non-group events in cart

When you create events, programs and facilities in Event Management, you can choose whether the registration or reservation collects group information. If you enable Collect Group Information, the customer must identify and provide information about the group (such as the school district or a youth group).

Depending on your business operations, you might want to allow groups to register for events that aren’t configured to collect group information . For example, when a school schedules a group field trip, they might also want to buy tickets for an add-on like an IMAX, aquarium or planetarium show.

Doubleknot now supports assigning group registration information to non-group events. This feature allows the following:

  • Simplified check-in for groups. If a customer books a group event and then adds a non-group event to the cart, the group information is carried over to the non-group event. When the group arrives for check-in, staff can pull up every registration and reservation associated with the group on Sales Station.
  • Easier administration of group visits. When a Doubleknot administrator creates a registration or reservation, they can choose to assign it to a group instead of an individual purchaser.

To enable this feature, follow these steps in Event Management:

  1. Click the Utilities tab.
  2. In the Global Settings panel, click Event Configuration.
  3. At the Group Assignment for Non-Group Events menu, select Allow.
  4. Click Save.
